Show Me Saddle Fit
This program examines the problems of saddle fit, then looks at ways to fix them for a given rider and horse. Both English and Western saddles will be examined and most all disciplines of riding will benefit. After years of frustration with fitting saddles and getting different opinions from each person that looked at a saddle Dr. Ormston has stumbled upon several tools that take the guess work out of saddle fit. The lecture portion is spent on anatomy of the horse, anatomy of the rider, gravity and how saddle fit affects it. We then look at all of the different variables involved in saddle fit. Ways to solve these problems will be explored and the student will be amazed that most saddle fit issues can be corrected without buying a new saddle. The laboratory portion is all about you being able to apply what you learned during the lectures and allowing you to make a difference in the lives of horses in your neighborhood. It consists of you working on horses in your area and sending pictures and videos in to show completion of the task.
This combined online and hands on course will help people of all levels understand the problems with fitting saddles. Ways to solve the problems will be explored. Simple enough for lay people and detailed enough to help even the seasoned animal professional.
