Basal Metabolism Rate
This brochure contains information on Basal Metabolism Rates and how to determine the rate in animals. It includes a list of possible problems that might be associated with a lowered BMR.
The basal metabolic rate of 60 to 75% of the daily calorie expenditure by individuals. It is influenced by several reason or factors. Basal Metabolic Rate typically declines by 1–2% per decade after the age of 20, mostly due to loss of fat-free mass, although the variability between individuals is high.
